All Big Bend schools, including Leon County, will be closed Thursday and Friday due to Tropical Storm Hermine. Also, a reminder that Monday September 5, 2016 is Labor Day and Bright Star Kid Care will be closed.
Below are some items you may wish to collect before the storm arrives:
- Non-perishable food (such as dried fruit or peanut butter)
- First aid kit
- Extra batteries
- Matches in a waterproof container
- Paper plates, plastic cups and utensils, paper towels
- Water – at least a gallon per person, per day
- Battery-powered or hand-cranked radio
- Sleeping bag or warm blanket for each person
- Flashlights
- Whistle to signal for help
- Can opener (manual)
- Pet supplies
- Baby supplies (formula, diapers)
