We are a childcare facility dedicated to providing quality child care and educational opportunities to children 6 weeks to 4 years of age. We provide Volunteer Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) for 4-year-olds who are eligible; they must turn 4 before September 1, per the Department of Education. Bright Star Kid Care provides opportunities for all children to develop physically and cognitively using developmentally appropriate assessment tools and methods supported by trained staff and all-encompassing families.
It is the goal of Bright Star Kid Care to provide a solid foundation for children to learn through discovery, to experiment and ponder on how things work, and encourage them to become active, creative thinkers while using all their senses: touch, tasting, listening, smelling, and looking.
Outdoor playing, cooking, music and movement, library, sand and water, art, table toys, house corner, dramatic play, and blocks all play an important part in developing a child’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills. We have selected The Creative Curriculum, allowing them to learn decision-making. The activities planned, the way the classroom is set up, the selection of toys and materials, the daily schedule and talking with the children are all designed to reach the goals of creative, hands-on learning.
Parental involvement directly benefits your child’s education. The weekly lesson plans are posted in each classroom. All classrooms have the same lesson plan and are delivered age-appropriately in each class. We want to encourage you to be involved in all our school events.

Hours of Operation
The center opens at 7:00am and remains open until 6:00pm. A late fee will be charged if the child is not picked up by 6:00pm. The center is open for full days, Monday through Friday. We will be closed for the usual and customary holidays. Upon registration, each family will receive a handbook that defines the Holidays for the year to allow plenty of time for alternative plans to be made.
Creative Curriculum for Early Childhood Education
Bright Star Kid Care, LLC (BSKC) has chosen the Creative Curriculum for Early Childhood Education to be used in all classrooms. Children learn by doing. They like to explore by using all their senses: touching, tasting, listening, smelling and seeing.
Creative curriculum is a play based curriculum. Play is the work of young children. Playing provides the foundation children will use for their academic studies in a few short years. Sounds will become letters and the number concepts will become numbers. Outdoor play, cooking, music and movement, library, sand and water, art, table toys, house-corner, dramatic play and blocks all play an important part in developing the child’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills. The curriculum allows them to learn the process of decision making.
Each classroom has “centers” where children can discover, experiment and ponder on how things work, encouraging them to become active, creative learners. The planned activities, the way the classrooms are set up, the selection of toys and materials, daily schedules and talking with children are all designed to reach the goals of creative, hands-on learning curriculum.
4 Year Old VPK Program
Bright Star Kid Care has continued to grow with our children and our families needs. The Creative Curriculum is endorsed by The Early Learning Coalition as an excellent curriculum to teach VPK standards mandated and tested for by the Coalition. Services Provided
Bright Star Kid Care will provide two snacks a day for children from one to four years old. Snacks for the younger infants should be provided by parents based on the infant’s ability and tolerance of solid food. Children will need to bring their own lunches. Lunches may be warmed at the center.
This is a play based program and children should be dressed appropriately. Two changes of clothes should remain on site for each child. Bright Star lead teachers have various degrees of education and training and are highly motivated to provide quality child care and education. All lead teachers are CPR and first aid certified.
Our teachers will send home a daily assessment of what your child has accomplished.
